How to Store Your Handmade Soap for Longer Use
Handcrafted soaps are made with natural oils and butters, which make them extra gentle on your skin—but they also need a little care to last longer! Here are a few simple tips to help your soap go the distance: 1. Keep it dry between uses. The #1 rule: Let your soap dry completely between uses. Sitting in water causes it to soften and melt faster. Use a draining soap dish or soap saver to keep it lifted and dry. 2. Store unused bars in a cool, dry place. Have extra bars? Store them in a linen closet, drawer, or storage bin—away from moisture and direct sunlight. Bonus: they’ll make your linens smell amazing! 3. Cut your soap into smaller pieces. If your bar is large, cut it in half or thirds. Use one piece at a time to keep the rest fresh. 4. Don’t leave it in the shower. If your shower stays steamy or has poor drainage, move the soap out between uses. A dry environment makes a big difference! Taking care of your handmade soap not only helps it last longer but also keeps every shower feeling like a little luxury. 💛
